Having weathered the tornado of March 2020 and with the pandemic just beginning, like everyone the coalition rode out the necessary hard pivots throughout 2020. Without a playbook on how to operate through unprecedented times, both experiences underscored the importance and critical need for community based efforts and collaboration to withstand whatever curveball comes along. Currently the coalition is continuing it's focus on identifying and developing community solutions for pets and people through expanding community relationships critical to sustaining the lifesaving achievements made within the county. Whatever the next challenges may be, we know it will take everyone playing whatever part they can to cement Nashville Davidson county as a community safe for all pets and people. Join us!

Safe Placement Incentive Program 2018 - 2020
The Safe Placement Incentive Program offered financial subsidies to coalition partners able to provide rescue to identified most in need cats and dogs at Metro Animal Care and Control, Davidson county's municipal community shelter. This collaborative program rooted in partnership helped save the lives of over 820 most at risk cats and dogs in it's 3 year existence, a huge success thanks to all involved.
Mars Home for Good Fund 2018
The Safe Coalition is pleased to announce a partnership with Mars Petcare to bring you the Mars Home for Good Fund. This grant opportunity was open to Coalition partners and provided community support to keep Nashville’s pets with their families.
Safe Coalition Grant Opportunities - 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020
The yearly grant cycle was generously made possible thanks to funding from Metro to support the lifesaving work and needs to reach the goals of the coalition. Open to coalition partners, projects were sought that demonstrated the ability to show a measurable impact by increasing lifesaving at Metro Animal Care and Control, the community shelter, or facilitating solutions to help people with pets have access to resources that were solutions to temporary or resolvable issues.
